First established in 2003, the Students’ Council is democratically elected each year from the student body with representatives from each year group. The council undertakes a number of tasks each term. It organises and runs charity fund-raising events. It is also asked to deliberate on and offer recommendations on various aspects of school policy.

The Students’ Council is seen as having a vital role in making student voices heard in St. Declan’s.
